6/20/2023 0 Comments Memory of water bookJudging by the reviews for Book 1, I imagine the majority of reviewers didn't bother to purchase Book 2, "Memory of Water" and hence the reviewers are those that enjoyed Book 1 "Body of Water." I found myself going back to re-read several paragraphs because I just hadn't acknowleged the story, instead I was mentally making out shopping lists, To-Do lists, thinking about the looming January deadline for the tax bill. I found my mind wandering during the reading of this book. blah! I felt no empathy with any of them, including the protagonists. I found the plot tedious and whilst I acknowledge that this sort of science fiction would not ordinarily be my choice (more needs to be said in the synopsis with regard to the theme)I can usually appreciate a good story regardless of the genre. The writing style is quaint, old fashioned even, nicely stuctured, grammatically sound, reads like a piece written as part of a creative writing course, but sadly the author's personality does not come over. Needless to say, as I read further into Book 2, memories of Book 1 began to surface so I will not be re-reading "Body of Water." Seeing that I'd already purchased Book 1 in this trilogy, but hadn't reviewed it, I purchased Book 2 "Memory of Water." Strangely I couldn't remember Book 1 as I started to read, so downloaded from my "Cloud" (Kindle Paperwhite) "Body of Water" to re-read after I'd completed Book 2. I think I must have been reading a different novel to every other reviewer here.
